Roger Pickett

Roger Pickett has been in the mattress business for over 30 years. Even though it started as a small family business, under Pickett’s leadership, the company has grown significantly. He has obviously done things right as his company, MurMaid Mattress, wins year after year the Best of the Best award from the Cleveland Daily Banner, which the community nominates, and he also has won many awards in the Chattanooga area, as well. MurMaid Mattress has maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and Pickett is always promoting to buy local which helps the community and keeps those tax dollars here. He is very involved in the community. He is known to put his community first by serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cleveland / Bradley Chamber of Commerce, the Advisory Board for United Way and Southern Heritage Bank and by supporting many of the local high school sports teams. He is a member of First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years inspiring many teenage boys though his teaching and his example.

Not only is Pickett a successful businessman, he is always willing to help others in his community. After the tornadoes of 2011, he donated mattresses to storm victims receiving assistance from the long-term recovery organizations efforts.

He and his wife, Cindy, have two daughters, Kristen and Lindsey, and one son-in- law, Ben.
