State Senator Mike Bell is a Cleveland State grad who puts both his community and his community college first every day, in every way. Born and raised in Bradley County, Bell currently lives on a farm in Riceville. He was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2006 and was elected to the Tennessee State Senate in 2010 and represents the 9th Senatorial District, which includes Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe and Polk Counties.
When it comes to civic involvement, Bell serves quietly, competently and with great skill and acumen, never seeking praise or even recognition for his local hard work. He is a member of Tennessee Farm Bureau, McMinn County Republican Party, Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, Etowah Chamber of Commerce, Cleveland / Bradley Chamber of Commerce, Polk County Chamber of Commerce, Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, National Wild Turkey Federation, and Safari Club International—just to name a few.
He and his wife, Lisa, are members of Eastanallee Baptist Church in Riceville. They have five children—son, Nathan, and daughter-in- law, Priscilla, and two granddaughters, Rory and Maddie, daughter, Laura, son, Zack and daughter-in- law, Chey, daughter, Rachael, and son-in-law, Paul Wooten, and granddaughter, Layla, and daughter, Michaela.
