Director of Career & Technical Education at McMinn County School System

For Jonathan Pierce, education is not just his job—it is a way of life.

Over the past 37 years, Pierce has risen through the ranks and is thought of by his colleagues as “Quiet Strength.” He is highly respected and is known for his dedication and commitment in the field of education, not only in his local community, but across the state and nationally. He has served and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Ag Central Farmers, Valley Farmers Cooperative and McMinn County Livestock Association. He is an active member of the Athens Rotary Club, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association and the National Swine Registry. He also served as a volunteer fireman for ten years in the Hillsview community.

His exemplary educational career is reflected in many awards and recognitions he has received from his peers and administrators over the years. He works tirelessly to promote Agriculture in the community and neither expects nor wants recognition, but as his accolades reflect, his colleagues recognize his dedication and commitment to the field of education. He is a true ambassador and advocate for education in McMinn County. His dedication and positive attitude helps to inspire many individuals in the community to make McMinn County a great place to be and live.
